xMEMS Introduces Single-Chip MEMS Tweeter Tomales

     xMEMS Labs introduces Tomales, the first single-chip MEMS tweeter. Tomales' top-voicing and side-voicing package options and a thin 1mm thickness simplify speaker assembly and placement for direct-to-ear audio delivery in smart glasses and extended reality (xR) headset applications. In a 3cm free-air, Tomales can reach 75dB SPL (sound pressure level) at 2kHz, 90dB at 4kHz, and over 108dB at 10kHz. Tomales uses the xMEMS second-generation M2 speaker driver architecture, and the improvements in SPL/mm2 allow it to increase loudness in a smaller form factor.
