Ams Osram (SIX: AMS), the world's leading optical solutions leader, and Cadiz, the world's leading supplier of smart locks, have jointly launched the latest smart electronic lock, which uses ams Osram's TMF8801 sensor, which can input distance information into the face Ministry identification system. With the rapid development of smart locks and the introduction of the market, smart locks have become an indispensable part of the smart home ecosystem. Factors such as high performance, security, multi-function and intelligence have now become key attributes of electronic lock products.
The Cadiz K20 and K20 Max series feature the ams Osram TMF8801 sensor, which integrates a VCSEL infrared emitter, multiple SPAD (Single Photon Avalanche Photodiode) photodetectors, a time-to-digital converter, and a sensor for histogram Processing on-chip microcontrollers, capable of delivering outstanding performance. Compared with the average distance measurement method used in indirect ToF systems, the direct ToF time measurement method used in the TMF8801 can provide higher accuracy and more realistic distance measurement results.
TMF8801 has an anti-interference filter for sunlight, so it has excellent anti-interference ability of sunlight, and can achieve accurate ranging even in full sunlight. At the same time, it also has a high dynamic range, measuring from 20mm to 2500mm. Whether indoors or outdoors, the TMF8801 can detect human presence in a variety of lighting conditions. Taking advantage of the high-precision ranging performance of the TMF8801, ams Osram and Cadiz have developed an optimized algorithm to prevent false triggering of the electronic lock sensor when it detects someone passing by the front door.
Barry Guo, Marketing Manager at ams Osram, said: “The TMF8801 provides more precise distance measurement capabilities to help Cadiz achieve a more reliable, efficient and energy-efficient electronic lock solution. The TMF8801 can be used to implement user occupancy monitoring to Detect the presence or absence of the user, automatically wake up the system when the user is present, and automatically put the system into a low-power sleep mode when the user is absent.”
