The AS5172E high-resolution magnetic position sensor from ams OSRAM. Featuring AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified construction, this magnetic position sensor is rugged and can be used in automotive-grade applications such as brake and accelerator pedals, fuel level measurement systems, steering angle sensors, and non-contact potentiometers.
The ams OSRAM AS5172E sensor provides highly accurate angular position measurements by measuring the quadrature component of the magnetic flux density over a full revolution. The sensor features a 14-bit sensor array and analog front end, uses a unique redundant measurement method to compensate for external stray magnetic fields, and ensures accurate measurement results with a 12-bit PSI5 output (V1.3 and V2.1) with a minimum arc of 90° .
The highly durable AS5172E sensor supports an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and supply voltages up to 16.5V, and provides overvoltage protection up to 20V and reverse polarity protection up to 18V.
