XP Power introduces a bare-board, natural convection cooled 80W power supply

     XP Power has announced the launch of a new bare-board 80W power supply that provides an ultra-compact, low-cost solution for a wide range of lighting, display, industrial and technical applications. This low-cost product offers high specifications at a competitive price, ensuring they are suitable for high-volume applications.

     Because no forced air cooling is required, the LCE80 series is ideal for fanless applications. This greatly improves the reliability of the entire system, while reducing the size and weight of the system and simplifying the mechanical design. Fanless silent operation makes the LCE80 series ideal for applications where noise can be a problem, such as office environments.

     The LCE80 series has a total of 10 single-output models with a coverage range of 5.0V to 54.0V and an efficiency of up to 90%. Depending on the load, the output operates in constant voltage or constant current mode, ensuring compatibility with a variety of applications.

     The product offers a standard ultra-wide input range of 90 to 305VAC, allowing equipment to operate safely on single-phase high lines at 277VAC. All modules in the family offer Class I and Class II operation and pass a wide range of relevant certifications, including EN55032, EN55015 and EN61000-3 standards for EMC emissions and EN55035 and EN61547 standards for EMC immunity.

     In addition, these devices have passed the EN/UL/IEC62368-1 standard on ITE safety and the EN61347-1/UL8750 standard on lighting and display. For loads greater than 50W, all LCE80 modules meet the harmonic Class C limits required for lighting applications. The product also complies with limited power supply (LPS) requirements of 12V and above, ensuring a reduced risk of fire or electric shock during operation and handling and in case of failure.
