Vishay launches automotive-grade IHSR high-temperature inductors for multi-phase power filtering, featuring ultra-low DC internal resistance and high current

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of a new AEC-Q200 qualified IHSR high temperature inductor, the IHSR-2525CZ-5A, in a 7.4 mm x 6.6 mm x 3.0 mm 2525 form factor. The Vishay Dale IHSR-2525CZ-5A is designed for polyphase high current power supplies and filters, with 50 % lower DC internal resistance (DCR) than typical power inductors, over the full operating temperature range compared to ferrite solutions , with excellent inductive value saturation stability, suitable for automotive engine compartment and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

     The recently released automotive-grade inductors with frequencies up to 10MHz are ideal for DC/DC converter energy storage and high-current filtering below the inductor's self-resonant frequency (SRF). The device operates up to +155 °C and is suitable for filtering and DC/DC conversion in applications including engine and transmission control units, ADAS microcontrollers, entertainment/navigation systems, as well as engine noise suppression, wipers, power mirrors and seats Chairs, heating ventilators, etc.

     The IHSR-2525CZ-5A has a typical DC internal resistance as low as 0.38 mΩ and an inductance value of 0.056 µH, which is the highest current density in the same technology, and the 3 mm height enables thinner and lighter finished designs. The inductor package features a 100 % lead (Pb)-free shielded composite structure that reduces buzzing noise to ultra-low levels, provides high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical vibration, and can handle high transient current spikes without saturation. The device is RoHS and Vishay Green compliant and halogen free.
