Vishay introduces new small 1500 form factor automotive-grade IHTH plug-in inductors with 156 A saturation current

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of two new automotive-grade IHTH high current, high temperature plug-in inductors in a small 1500 form factor - the IHTH-1500MZ-5A and IHTH-1500TZ-5A. These two inductors are suitable for automotive applications, Vishay Dale IHTH-1500MZ-5A (0.47 µH~4.7 µH) saturation current up to 156 A, very low typical DCR value of only 0.19 mW, IHTH-1500TZ-5A (6.8 µH~ 100 µH) with a saturation current of 106 A and a typical DCR as low as 1.1 mW. Both inductors are capable of continuous operation up to +155 °C.

     The device announced today is based on IHLP technology and is housed in a shielded composite structure in a small form factor package measuring 38.1 mm x 38.1 mm x 19.81 mm. The IHTH-1500MZ-5A and IHTH-1500TZ-5A can be used to replace bulky and expensive comparable solutions for 12 V/48 V hybrid vehicle (HEV) and mild hybrid vehicle (MHEV) output converters, off-road High current filtering for diesel injection drives, catalytic PWM heaters, and electric motors.

     The IHTH-1500MZ-5A and IHTH-1500TZ-5A can handle high transient current spikes without saturation, and the case has excellent heat dissipation performance. The inductors are RoHS and Vishay Green compliant, halogen-free, and have high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical vibration.
