Vishay introduces automotive-grade ultra-thin IHLP inductors operating to +180 °C

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc has launched a new 2020 form factor device, the IHLP-2020CZ-8A, expanding its high-temperature automotive-grade IHLP ultra-thin high-current inductors. The Vishay Dale IHLP-2020CZ-8A can work continuously at a high temperature of +180 °C, and the height is only 3 mm, saving space in the environment where the car engine compartment is used.

     The recently released device is AEC-Q200 qualified and suitable for energy storage in DC/DC converters at frequencies up to 2 MHz. At the same time, the inductor has excellent noise attenuation performance in high current filtering applications in the self-resonant frequency (SRF) range. Devices can operate at high temperatures and are suitable for automotive engines and transmission units, fuel injection drives, advanced driver assistance systems, exhaust gas circulation pumps, entertainment/navigation systems, as well as engine noise suppression, wipers, power mirrors and seats , HID and LED lighting, filtering and DC/DC conversion of heating fans.

     The high efficiency IHLP-2020CZ-8A has a typical DCR of 3.95 mΩ to 195 mΩ and an inductance value of 0.22 µH to 15.0 µH. The device is rated up to 18 A and can handle high transient current spikes without saturation. The inductors are RoHS compliant and feature a 100 % lead (Pb)-free shielded composite construction that reduces noise to very low levels and features high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical vibration.
