Toshiba introduces Hall sensorless sine wave drive three-phase brushless DC motor control pre-driver IC to help reduce vibration and noise

     Toshiba Electronic Components & Storage Co., Ltd. has launched a three-phase brushless DC motor control pre-driver integrated circuit (IC) "TC78B011FTG", which starts mass shipment today. This product can be used in high-speed motors used in applications such as server fans and blowers, as well as in vacuum motors used in cordless and robotic vacuum cleaners.

     The TC78B011FTG uses a sine wave drive method and does not use Hall sensor control, which helps reduce vibration and noise. In addition, the built-in closed-loop speed control function can program a detailed speed profile into the IC's non-volatile memory (NVM), ensuring that no external motor control unit (MCU) is required to suppress power supply voltage or load fluctuations. Speed fluctuates.

     Toshiba also mass-produces the TC78B009FTG. This IC adopts a rectangular wave drive method that does not require Hall sensor control. Users can choose suitable products according to their own motor drive mode.
