Toshiba introduces 1500V high voltage on-board optical relay

     Toshiba Electronic Components and Memory Devices Co., LTD. Announces the launch of the Normally Open (NO) 1-Form-A OPTICAL RELAY "TLX9160T" for high-voltage automotive BATTERIES. The new device comes in a SO16L-T package and is Toshiba's first product with a 1,500V (minimum) high output voltage. Volume shipments of the product are available starting today.

     The new device has a built-in high-voltage MOSFET with an output voltage of up to 1500V (minimum). Its SO16L-T package is manufactured with resin that meets the requirements of IEC 60664-1 international standard Material Group I[1]. The CTI[2] of this package is over 600, the number of pins is reduced by 4 (pins 11 to 14 are removed from the existing SO16L package), and the creepage distance of no less than 5mm[3] can be achieved in the detector of the device. This ensures support for the 1000V supply voltage of the IEC 60664-1 standard, making the optical relay suitable for high-voltage on-board applications with battery voltages up to 1000V.
