Toshiba Electronic Components & Storage Corporation has launched the H-bridge motor driver "TC78H660FNG" in a TSSOP16 package with widely used pin assignments. This is the latest addition to Toshiba's family of direct current (DC) brushed and stepper motor drivers for a wide range of applications including mobile devices and home appliances.
Toshiba's next-generation DMOS process enables the TC78H660FNG to achieve an on-resistance as low as 0.48Ω at a maximum rating of 18V/2.0A[1], resulting in lower heat generation compared to Toshiba's existing products.
The new driver has a built-in regulated power supply for driving the internal circuit and can drive the motor with a single supply of 2.5V to 16V. It has a wide range of applications, including mobile devices powered by 3.7V lithium-ion batteries, 5V USB powered devices, and home appliance system devices powered by 12V. In addition, it also supports interfaces down to 1.8V.
