Torex Launches 400nA PWM/PFM Ultra-Low Current Consumption Step-Up DC/DC Converter

     Torex Semiconductor Co., Ltd. has developed the XC9145 series of 400nA PWM/PFM ultra-low current consumption step-up DC/DC converters.the ultra-low current consumption circuit of the XC9145 series reduces the current consumption to 400nA, and the PWM/PFM control method enables the product to significantly improve the efficiency under light load, especially when the output current is several μA, compared with traditional DC/DC converters, Efficiency is greatly improved (Figure 1). When VIN=2.4V, VOUT=3.3V, IOUT=10μA, the efficiency reaches 89.9%, which is compatible with low-power MCU and SoC. Without complex control, it can also significantly reduce the power consumption of IoT and portable devices with large system standby time in constant boost operation, contributing to extending battery life

     The ultra-small package WLP-6-05 (1.08 x 1.28 x 0.4 mm) enables an ultra-small footprint of 5.4 x 6.7 mm even when small coils and ceramic capacitors are mounted externally. High standby efficiency reduces the size and capacity of the battery, contributing to the miniaturization of the entire device. In addition, the operating ambient temperature of the XC9145 series can reach +105°C, which is suitable for IoT/mobile/wearable devices that require long battery life, as well as industrial equipment that requires high efficiency in small and light loads.
