The Powerbox offers a 1200W power supply that can adjust the output voltage and current to near zero

     Powerbox released a 1200WAC/DC power supply OFI1200A for industrial applications. OFI1200A optimizes conduction cooling and can operate efficiently in the substrate temperature range of - 40 ℃ to+95 ℃ without using a fan for cooling. It has a universal input voltage of 85 to 305VAC with power factor correction (PFC). Its application range is very wide, and the output voltage and current can be adjusted from close to zero to the maximum value allowed by each model.

     Many industrial applications require power supplies to operate under limited or no ventilation and cooling conditions. In this regard, power supplies that operate in harsh environments where electronic equipment is installed in sealed boxes, radio communication systems, outdoor displays and traffic signals affected by severe weather conditions, and indoor equipment with very strict audible noise limits, in addition to environmental requirements, Reliability and maintenance costs also discourage system designers from using fans and blowers.

     Transfer to cooling requires very specific construction practices. The OFI1200A of PRBX is designed to ensure the best heat transfer from the heat dissipation component to the substrate, and provide high performance within the working range of - 40 ℃ to+95 ℃ of the substrate. Depending on the assembly method and overall cooling conditions, the output may be derated as specified in the technical documentation.

     To cover a wide range of applications, OFI1200A can operate in the general input range of 85 to 305VAC (nominal 100 to 277VAC). The unit includes a PFC with a coefficient of 0.98/0.95 (110VAC/230VAC).
OFI1200A provides three versions of single output DC voltage, 12V/84A, 28V/43A and 48V/25A. Due to the efficient topology, the typical efficiency of 48V output unit at 230VAC input is as high as 92%.

     Industrial applications such as professional lighting and even low-power electrolytic cells require power supplies to provide constant current and must be easy to adjust. Typically, such equipment operates in environments that require electronic equipment to be enclosed and protected from hazards. This requires the power supply to provide external control to adjust the output voltage and/or current from the maximum allowable value to near zero.

     To enable customers to precisely adjust the voltage and current according to their applications, OFI1200A provides two analog inputs, VTRM and ITRM. With these functions, the output voltage and current can be adjusted from near zero to the maximum value specified for each model. For example, the 28V output can be adjusted from a voltage close to zero volts to 33.6V, and the output current can be adjusted from a current close to zero amperes to 43A, or the output voltage can be adjusted using the on-board potentiometer provided.

     The extended trim and control functions simplify the use of the power supply in constant voltage (CV) or cross current (CC) mode without adding external circuits.
For applications requiring redundancy or higher power, up to nine units can be connected in parallel to provide an impressive total power level of up to 9720W in the conduction cooling mode. To maintain maximum efficiency in parallel or redundant mode, OFI1200A28 and OFI1200A48 provide optional active ORing circuits using high-performance FET technology (option-O).

     For safety, the IN/OUT isolation voltage of OFI1200A is 3000VAC, the isolation voltage of IN/FG is 2000VAC, and the output isolation of FG is 500VAC. The power supply includes over-current protection, over-voltage and over temperature protection with automatic recovery function. OFI1200A circuit board includes easy access to auxiliary functions through on-board connectors, namely: remote control, output voltage detection, power monitoring, VTRM, ITRM.

     OFI1200A has passed the shock and vibration tests specified in MIL-STD-810H. In this regard, the product has passed the test, and the level is far higher than the normal operating conditions. The power supply is designed to withstand the impact of up to 20G. The OFI1200A open frame is 142 x 39 x 260mm (5.59 x 1.54 x 10.36 inches) in size and weighs up to 1.2kg. The optional metal cover only increases the height by 1mm and the weight by 200g (Option - N).

     Thanks to the optimized design for conduction cooling, OFI1200A is suitable for applications requiring silent power solutions, such as control rooms. It is also suitable for industrial applications where forced ventilation is not possible due to environmental limitations. The OFI1200A is connected to the chassis or cold plate to provide impressive power levels and high reliability. OFI1200A has passed the certification of the third edition of UL62368-1, cUL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.62368-1). The series is guaranteed for three years and complies with European RoHS, REACH and low-voltage directives. The product bears CE, UKCA and cURus marks.
