Thales Introduces New IoT Connectivity Solutions to Improve Reliability and Security of Smart Devices

Thales has introduced a single antenna solution compliant with LTE-CAT.1BIS standard 2 to provide iot device manufacturers with flexible connectivity solutions and strong network security. Its optimized dimensions are ideal for small but highly sensitive applications, such as medical wearables, smart meters, home alarm systems, or other devices used in critical use cases. The ELS62 module integrates security features with strong device authentication and data encryption capabilities to ensure continuous defense against network attacks, thereby protecting devices and data.

●The solution combines industrial cellular module design and digital security expertise to help authenticate devices, encrypt data and manage network connections.

     The IoT industry requires highly stable connections and devices based on security designs to unleash their full potential and earn users’ trust. To this end, Thales has launched a single-antenna solution compliant with the LTE-Cat.1bis standard2, providing IoT device manufacturers with flexible connectivity solutions and robust network security. The ELS62 module integrates security features with strong device authentication and data encryption to ensure continuous defense against cyber attacks to protect devices and data.

 

     In addition, the module simplifies device management, thanks to Thales' leading expertise in remote device activation and connection management. In fact, Thales' 2G connection fallback service maximizes network availability and improves user service quality. This means savings not just at installation, but over the life of the device, as the feature eliminates the need for physical services (and thus lowers total cost of ownership).
