Teledyne e2v introduces the Topaz series of CMOS industrial sensors with 2 and 1.5 million resolutions

     Teledyne e2v, part of the Teledyne Technologies Group, introduces the Topaz series of CMOS industrial sensors with 2 million and 1.5 million resolutions. Available in 1920 x 1080 and 1920 x 800 pixel formats, the new sensors use state-of-the-art low-noise, global shutter pixel technology to provide powerful solutions for multiple applications and a streamlined mobile design.

     The Topaz sensor comes in a 4.45 mm wide CSP package, where the optical center of the sensor perfectly coincides with the mechanical center of the package, creating a slim design for the camera. This feature makes it ideal for small OEM QR code engine designs, mobile devices and SLED, IoT, contactless authentication systems, wearables, drones and robots. The smaller 2.5µm global shutter pixel uses in-pixel correlation double sampling (CDS) and advanced dual light guides to ensure a good signal-to-noise ratio in low-light conditions and low crosstalk, thus enabling a 1/3-inch optical format.
