TDK's shielded SMT power inductors have saturation currents up to 80 A

     TDK Corporation's PCM120T series of shielded SMT power inductors are optimized for high saturation current and low DC resistance. The PCM120T product family includes 14 inductance values between 0.4 µH and 10 µH, up to a saturation current of 80 A based on the L value. Best saturation characteristics are achieved by using a ferroalloy core. Flat wire windings are used to keep losses as low as possible. This enables ohmic resistance values (RDC) as low as 0.72 mΩ (0.4 µH) to 9 mΩ (10 µH). Excellent EMC performance due to closed housing made of ferrite material without external gaps. They are ideal for automated solder joint inspection (AOI) and, due to their leadframe construction, achieve coplanarity of less than 0.1 mm.

     The metal core of this product is resistant to high voltage pulses and complies with the ISO7636 standard. The dimensions of the element are 12.7 mm x 15.8 mm x 11.5 mm (W x L x H). RoHS compliant, robust, designed for a wide temperature range of -55°C to +165°C, and AEC-Q200 qualified.

     Typical applications include primary DC/DC converters in automotive applications such as ADAS, power supplies for servers and base stations, and various types of DC/DC converters. PCM120T elements are also ideal for interference suppression, e.g. electric motors in vehicles
