TDK offers comprehensive calculation and selection tools for PCB mounted thin-film capacitors

     TDK Corporation has introduced a powerful simulation tool, CLARA (Capacitor Life and Rating Calculation Application), for the rating calculation and product selection of film capacitors mounted on PCB boards from EPCOS and TDK. The tool provides generic parameter retrieval capabilities, including capacitance, voltage range and rated voltage, RMS and peak current, temperature, maximum size and volume, certification, reference standards, and typical applications.

     Just enter the application conditions and click to simulate the performance of up to four capacitors. It not only visually displays a variety of parameters such as operating temperature, DC voltage, AC voltage, peak current and expected service life in a table, but also lists safety margins, making it easy for designers to adjust their Settings to specific requirements. A warning is also issued if the allowed capacitor parameters are exceeded.
