TDK introduces two MEMS sensors for consumer and industrial applications

     TDK announced at CES 2024 the launch of two high-performance MEMS sensors for consumer and industrial applications.
The new InvenSense SmartMotion ICM-42370-P is a 3-axis accelerometer for consumer applications that require low noise and high sensitivity. InvenSense SmartInduscial IIM-42653 is a high FSR, 6-axis IMU for industrial applications.

     The new SmartMotion ICM-42370-P accelerometer is ideal for iot applications, offering industry-leading low noise performance and a measurement range of up to ±16g. It features a 16-bit ADC for high acceleration sensitivity and supports various on-chip motion event/activity detection based on interrupts or register access without additional user programming. These features make it ideal for use cases such as home/industrial devices, security cameras, and consumer or medical wearables.

     "Next generation wearables and iot applications require accelerometers with low noise and high sensitivity. "It is compatible with our 6-axis IMUs and enables easy conversion between 3-axis and 6-axis solutions in customer applications."

     TDK also announced the full production of SmartInduscial IIM-42653, a 6-axis IMU (3-axis gyroscope + 3-axis accelerometer) that enables programmable digital output of ±4000 dps for gyroscopes and ±32g accelerometers. At the same time, ultra-low gyro noise is achieved. These technical features make the IIM-42653 ideal for applications that require robust, fast, and accurate performance, such as industrial or high-end AGVs, AMRs, and drones.
