TDK introduces a new series of EPCOS power capacitors for DC link applications

     TDK Group introduces a new series of EPCOS power capacitors for DC link applications. The rated voltage range of the new family of components is 700 V DC to 2000 V DC and the capacitance range is 20 µF to 270 µF. At 65°C, the current tolerance is up to 60 A (depending on the model) and can withstand peak currents up to 7.5 kA and hot spot temperatures up to 85°C.

     The highlight of the new element is its ultra-low ESL value (equivalent series inductance), which can be as low as 13 nH depending on the type. With ultra-low ESL values and ESR values as low as 0.9 mΩ (equivalent series resistance), the B2563xE * series capacitors are ideal for power module inverter solutions with fast switching. Its low ESR value remains stable even at high frequency switching of 100 kHz. The low parasitic coefficient prevents significant voltage overshoot when the power is turned off.

     The new series of capacitors are equipped with UL 94 V0 flame retardant cylindrical plastic housing and support both M8 bolt and M5 threaded hole connections. Typical applications include fast switching converters and inverters in photovoltaic systems, traction in railway technology, and induction heating systems.
