TDK introduces a new generation of ultra-low noise MEMS pressure sensors

     TDK Corporation has announced the worldwide launch of the InvenSense ICP-20100 platform, a new generation of versatile air pressure sensors ideal for use in smartphones, tablets, drones and smart home appliances. Through architectural innovation, ICP-20100 improves the accuracy and temperature stability of the SmartPressure™ family of products, improves long-term drift, and elevates the industry leading level.

     The ICP-20100 device integrates the pressure sensor and temperature sensor in a small 2.0mm x 2.0mm x 0.8mm package. The device is designed to support a variety of voltage input levels, including 1.2V, 1.8V and 3.3V, allowing users to choose flexibly from I²C, I3CSM and SPI interfaces. The performance of the ICP-20100 device can be configured to be ultra-low noise or ultra-low power, with the versatility to adjust arbitrarily in between.

     The InvenSense SmartPressure™ family uses an innovative capacitive MEMS architecture with lower power consumption and noise compared to competing pressure sensor technologies. The ICP-20100 air pressure sensor operates over a wider temperature range and provides the measurement accuracy required for a variety of applications, including three-dimensional (3D) geolocation, emergency location services (E911), indoor mobility, outdoor navigation, sports and fitness activity tracking, and UAV altitude maintenance. The sensor benefits from extremely low power consumption, which helps to extend its battery life while it is in operation.

     The ICP-20100 features ultra-low noise barometric sensing and can measure altitude changes of less than 5cm."The ICP-20100, with its low-noise architecture innovation, demonstrates TDK's continued commitment to providing innovative human sensing solutions."
