TDK has expanded its CN series laminated ceramic chip capacitors product lineup

     TDK Corporation has expanded its CN series Laminated Ceramic Chip capacitors (MLCC) product lineup, the first of its kind. The new 3216 size product (3.2 x 1.6 x 1.6 ㎜) has a capacitance of 10 μF and 3225 size (3.2 x 2.5 x 2.5 ㎜) has a capacitance of 22 ㎌, providing a low resistance resin electrode with low-end sub-resistance comparable to the standard product.

     MLCC with resin electrode prevents short circuit in the power line. However, since the terminal electrode resistance of the resin electrode is slightly higher, the resistance must be kept low to reduce loss. TDK's new resin electrode covers the mounting side of the board with a resin layer that resists the bending stress of the board while inhibiting the increase in resistance.

     TDK expects these products to promote the use of resin electrodes to replace MLCC in power cords to improve reliability. Compared to traditional products, the new product has a higher capacity, which helps to reduce the number of parts and reduce the size of the MLCC. In the future, TDK will continue to expand its MLCC product lineup to meet customer needs.
