TDK Introduces High Current, Low Inductance Power Inductors for Automotive Power Circuits

     TDK Corporation has developed a new HPL505032F1 power inductor for automotive circuits. By providing high-current, low-inductance power circuits in central processing units and graphics processing units, the inductor enables Level 5 ADAS applications for cameras, such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

     The new product adopts a completely self-developed high BS material and a high penetration, low loss ferrite low resistance frame manufactured with low RDC to achieve high power efficiency. The product's current rating is 1.5 times that of TDK's existing product (HPL505028) and can accommodate currents as high as 40A to 50A. The magnetic flux cancellation effect is produced in the proprietary structural design, which helps in noise control, while the frame integrating the inner and outer electrodes also reduces the risk of open and short circuits, ensuring high reliability.

     As cars become more automated, so does the need for high-speed, high-capacity cameras in ADAS. Cameras are an essential part of an ADAS-capable car, ensuring that everything in the vehicle is consistent and that no dangerous situations occur. TDK's ADAS system product line includes a range of automotive inductors for these applications.
