TDK Introduces Compact Cylindrical DC Link Solution for PCB Mounting

     TDK Corporation has launched a new compact cylindrical DC link capacitor for PCB board mounting, the B32320I series. The new family of components has a capacitance range of 6.5µF to 260µF, covers a voltage range of 450 V DC to 1300 V DC, a maximum current IRMS handling capability of up to 27.6 A (10 kHz, 60°C), and a minimum equivalent series resistance (ESR) of 2.4 mΩ, a maximum hot spot temperature of 105°C, and a plastic housing with a flame rating of UL 94 V-0.

     The new components range in size from 35 mm x 53 mm to 60 mm x 120 mm, depending on the model. Compared to square components, the new components have a higher insertion height and a smaller footprint for the same capacitance. In addition, all models of the new series use 5 pins, which not only guarantees high current handling capability, but also improves the mounting stability on the PCB circuit board.
