TCR3RM Series LDO Regulators

     Toshiba's TCR3U series reduces the bias current required to operate LDO regulators at no load compared to existing products on the market. Additionally, these devices feature a bypass mode that ensures that there is no sudden increase in bias current when the input voltage drops below a preset output voltage level. Addresses a problem common to most typical LDOs. When the battery begins to drain, the input voltage of the LDO may drop below the preset output voltage, resulting in increased power consumption. The bypass mode of the TCR3U series prevents this from happening.

     While the battery itself is the key to improving the battery life of a product, the current draw of the design is also very important. Common submodules such as sensing and data communications often require large amounts of current. Toshiba's low bias current LDOs help reduce passive drain during standby.
