Silicon Designs single-axis Model 2210 series accelerometers are available for industrial vibration testing

     Silicon Designs is a global industry specialist in the design, development and manufacture of commercial-grade MEMS capacitive accelerometer chips and modules with inertial products that meet zero-to-medium frequency test and instrumentation requirements. Recently, Silicon Designs announced that its single-axis Model 2210 series products are immediately available.

     Silicon Designs' low-noise, low-cost MEMS capacitive accelerometer modules provide accurate and repeatable measurement data in a variety of low-frequency vibration test applications, including common applications such as vibration analysis, mechanical control, modal analysis, robotics, and collision event detection. The Model 2210 series features a MEMS capacitive accelerometer chip and a high-drive, low-impedance buffer design that offers a standard measurement range from ±2 g to ±400 g.

     When used with Silicon Designs recommended mounting block accessories such as Model 2330-BLK, the Model 2210 series reliably and flexibly measures vibration and acceleration on one, two or three orthogonal axes with the same precision and repeatability. The measurement versatility offered by the Model 2210 family of products allows customers to specify a single part number to meet multiple unique measurement requirements, reducing internal costs and inventory.

     The Silicon Designs Model 2210 Series MEMS capacitive accelerometer module produces two analog voltage outputs that vary with externally applied acceleration. Customers can use single-ended or differential outputs, the latter doubling the accelerometer sensitivity. The sensitive axis of the Model 2210 series is perpendicular to the bottom of the package, and the positive acceleration is defined as the force pushing against the bottom of the package.

     The scale factor of the Model 2210 series is independent of the supply voltage of +8 to +32V. At zero acceleration, the differential output voltage is nominal 0VDC; At full scale, it is ±4VDC. Simple and robust four-wire connections and internal voltage regulators minimize the impact of supply voltage changes. The high-quality MEMS capacitive sensing elements of each Model 2210 series product are packaged in a single, compact, lightweight, epoxy-sealed and anodized aluminum housing that covers just one square inch.

     All Model 2210 series MEMS capacitive accelerometer modules are relatively insensitive to temperature changes and provide fast, simple self-calibration. Each product is 100% designed, developed and manufactured at Silicon Designs' own global corporate headquarters and ISO9001:2015 certified R&D center located outside Seattle, Washington, USA. Each accelerometer module also undergoes rigorous quality testing before shipping.
