     Siemens Digital Industries Software announced that Sierra Space, the world's leading commercial aerospace company, has deployed the Siemens Xcelerator solution portfolio to lay the foundation for its next-generation digital engineering program. Sierra Space is committed to building and delivering commercial space transportation and infrastructure for Low Earth Orbit (LEO), and by deploying its Xcelerator solution portfolio, Sierra Space plans to create a fully digital environment from engineering to manufacturing to continuity assurance The whole process of the project will achieve the goals of future space transportation, destinations and infrastructure, and help the development and implementation of the space economy with innovative technologies.

     Siemens tools played a fundamental role in the development of the Dream Chaser, and now Sierra Space has further deepened its partnership with Siemens, moving towards its vision of building a fully digital enterprise. Siemens' portfolio of Xcelerator solutions will run through the entire development process of Sierra Space's next-generation Dream Chaser, including structural, thermal, mechanical, electrical and software design, spacecraft manufacturing, requirements verification and life-cycle maintenance.

     The Dream Chaser can perform manned and cargo missions at 1.5G reentry acceleration and land on any commercial runway that is compatible worldwide. As a pioneer in leading the next generation of space transportation technology, NASA has contracted Dream Chaser to perform cargo missions to and from the International Space Station (ISS) with a single shipment of up to 12,000 pounds.

     In addition, Sierra Space is committed to designing, developing, constructing and operating and supporting customer-focused space destinations in Earth orbit. Sierra Space has partnered with Blue Origin to develop the LIFE habitat (Large Integrated Flexible Environment), the core component of the Orbital Reef commercial space station project. Designed with a modular three-story architecture, LIFE habitat is a commercial residential and scientific research platform that provides opportunities for various industries, including manufacturing and pharmaceuticals, to fully exploit the advantages of a zero-gravity environment. It can be deployed in low-Earth orbit, on the lunar surface or in lunar orbit, or as a transport to Mars. The Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of solutions will be used throughout all phases of the development of LIFE habitat and other space station missions.
