The MAX9984 high linearity down-conversion mixer offers 8.1dB gain, +25dBm IIP3 and 9.3dB NF for base station receiver applications ranging from 400MHz to 1000MHz. The mixer features an optimized 570MHz to 850MHz LO frequency range, which is ideal for the cellular band low-side LO injection receiver architecture, and the MAX9984 is also functionally compatible with the MAX9993. The MAX9984 comes in a compact 20-pin thin QFN package (5mm x 5mm) with exposed blades. Electrical performance is guaranteed in the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

The mixer features an optimized 570MHz to 850MHz LO frequency range, which is well suited to the low side LO injection receiver architecture in the cellular band.

The MAX9986 supports high-side LO injection, which is pin-to-pin and is functionally compatible with MAX9984. In addition to providing excellent linearity and noise performance, the MAX9984 produces a high level of component integration. The device includes a double-balanced passive mixer core, an IF amplifier, a dual-input LO optional switch, and an LO buffer. On-chip balancing devices are also integrated to support single-ended RF and LO inputs.

MAX9984 requires a nominal LO driver of 0dBm, supply current guaranteed below 265mA,MAX9984/MAX9986 compatible with MAX9994/MAX9996 1700MHz to 2200MHz mixer pins, This makes the entire down converter family ideal for use in common PC board layouts of two frequency bands.

The MAX9984 is also functionally compatible with the MAX9993. The MAX9984 comes in a compact 20-pin thin QFN package (5mm x 5mm) with exposed blades. Electrical performance is guaranteed in the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
