Samsung announced that Qualcomm Technologies has validated Samsung's 14nm 16Gb low-power double data rate 5X (LPDDR5X) DRAM for Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon mobile platform.
Since developing Samsung's first 14nm-based LPDDR5X DRAM last November, Samsung has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies to optimize 7.5 gigabits per second (Gbps) LPDDR5X for the Snapdragon mobile platform.
Samsung said that LPDDR5X is about 1.2 times faster than LPDDR5 (6.4Gbps) on current high-end smartphones, and is expected to improve ultra-high-resolution video recording performance and artificial intelligence such as speech recognition, image recognition, and natural language processing on next-generation smartphones. Smart features.
In addition, through the use of advanced circuit design and dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (Dynamic voltage and frequency scaling, DVFS), the power consumption of LPDDR5X can be reduced by about 20%.
