STMicroelectronics partners with Arrival to provide advanced technology for the next generation of electric vehicles

      Arrival has designated STMicroelectronics as one of its key partners for the industrialization of connected electric vehicles. As part of the overall mobility ecosystem, ST's leading technologies will be used to deliver future-proof zero-emission commercial vehicles to Arrival's customers. Arrival selected ST's high-performance safety vehicle gauge microcontroller to develop a modular ECU platform, and adopted ST's intelligent power supply and battery management and other product technologies to design efficient electric vehicle powertrains.

     Arrival believes its vehicles represent the next generation of electric vehicles developed from scratch using a completely new design and production approach, a vertically integrated approach using hardware, software and robotics developed in-house that can produce vehicles in scattered, micro-factories that can be deployed around the world to meet the needs of local communities. Drive economic development in local communities by hiring local talent, leveraging local supply chains and paying local taxes.

     Arrival's entire fleet of vehicles, including vans, buses and the recently unveiled electric taxi designed in partnership with Uber, will be powered by ST's technology. Arrival has secured a contract from UPS for up to 10,000 electric vehicles (with an option to purchase an additional 10,000 electric vehicles) and will begin vehicle trials by the end of the year.
