STMicroelectronics launches ST4SIM M2M-compatible eSIM chip for mass market

     STMicroelectronics launches ST4SIM, a mass-market machine-to-machine (M2M) embedded SIM (eSIM) chip. Industrial eSIM chips provide all the services IoT devices need to connect to cellular networks, making them ideal for machine condition monitoring and predictive maintenance, as well as devices such as asset tracking, energy management, and connected healthcare. Additionally, these eSIM chips allow customers to remotely manage SIM profiles in accordance with GSMA specifications, allowing network service providers to be changed without accessing the device.

Launching in the market will allow developers everywhere to deploy secure and flexible cellular networks into a wider range of applications, including standalone M2M development, proof-of-concept and prototyping projects."

     ST also handles device activation and service deployment, arranging for customers to use the device registration and service provisioning platform provided by ST's authorized partner Truphone. Using ST's ST4SIM Discovery Kit B-L462E-CELL1, users can also evaluate the full range of product features pre-integrated in the complete ecosystem.
