STMicroelectronics introduces operational amplifiers that improve high-speed signal conditioning and current detection

     The TSV792 5V dual operational amplifier (opamp) from STMicroelectronics features a 50MHz gain bandwidth product, low input offset voltage, and 10pA input bias current. The typical input offset voltage (25°C) ensures that the chip accurately amplifies low-amplitude signals. The fast swing rate of 30V/µs makes the TSV792 suitable for conditioning the photodiode output signals of battery-powered smoke sensors. By efficiently processing the output signal of the photoelectric smoke sensor, the energy saved by the TSV792 can drive additional functions such as wireless networking and increase the use of smart home products.

     The input voltage noise of the TSV792 is extremely low, with a typical value of only 6.5nV/√Hz at 10kHz, and can be used in motor control applications and power systems, such as industrial power supplies, power supplies for telecommunications and network infrastructure, and renewable energy conversion systems to perform accurate low-side current detection. In addition, the TSV792 is capable of handling output capacitors up to 1nF and load capacitors up to 22pF, making it ideal for high-speed, high-precision filtering applications and input buffer applications in analog-to-digital converters (ADCs).

     The high accuracy of the maximum input offset voltage, specified in a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, enables the new op amp to achieve high measurement accuracy without the use of special external components such as precision resistors, without adding bill of material costs, and avoids the need to adjust or calibrate the circuit during production.

     The wide supply voltage range of 2.2V to 5.5V allows the TSV792 to share the same power supply with other low-voltage digital ics, such as the system host microcontroller, and can be powered by a deep discharge battery to extend the device's operating time.
