STEVAL-2STPD01 USB Type-C® Power Delivery Dual Port Adapter

     STMicroelectronics' STEVAL-2STPD01 kit provides a complete hardware evaluation and development platform with a powerful software interface for power sharing across dual USB Type-C powered ports.

     This kit demonstrates the flexibility and benefits of the STPD01 programmable synchronous buck regulator with an I²C interface for digital MCU control. Each port provides up to 60 W of output power (20 V, 3 A) and is regulated according to the USB PD 3.0 specification and protection against overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature events. The STM32G071RBT6 microcontroller with UCPD peripheral runs a dedicated firmware stack to implement power sharing logic in USB Type-C and PD dual port power adapters.

     The design includes TCPP02-M18 USB Type-C port protection for source applications and an L7983 synchronous buck switching regulator on the MCU power supply. The STSW-2STP01 kit software includes an application example that fully demonstrates the system's advanced USB Type-C and power delivery capabilities.
