ST's door zone and rear window controllers add power trunk/tailgate functionality

     STMicroelectronics L99DZ200G door area system chip improves the functional integration of the body control module, which can realize the single-chip control of the front window, rearview mirror and lighting, as well as the rear window lift function. The rich feature set provides the same rich product benefits, including lower system quiescent current, higher reliability, faster installation process, smaller bill of materials and shorter R&D cycle.

     The L99DZ200G consists of two H-bridge gate drivers, a gate driver for driving external MOSFET power tubes to control mirror heating, a control unit and high-side driver for automatic anti-glare mirror dimming, and five There are three LED high-side drivers, three of which can work in constant current mode to supply power to lighting modules with high input capacitance, and the other two high-side drivers are used to control ordinary LED lighting. It is also AEC-Q100 qualified in a 10mm x 10mm LQFP64 package.

     With two H-bridge drives, the L99DZ200G can control two spindle motors at the same time and drive an additional take-up motor for closing the power tailgate or trunk. Both drivers can operate in generator mode, which protects the controller by activating both low-side MOSFET switches simultaneously when overvoltage is detected in the power rails.

     The L99DZ200G also provides power management functions, including two 5V low dropout regulators that power the main microcontroller and peripherals. Control communication interfaces include LIN 2.2a (SAEJ2602, SAE J2962-1) transceivers, high-speed CAN (HS-CAN, ISO 11898-2:2003/-5:2007, SAE J2284, SAE J2962-2) transceivers, and SPI 4.0 interface.

     Diagnostics and protection features include temperature monitoring and thermal protection, a dedicated fault protection block that pulls the gate of the external high-side MOSFET low, and open load detection and overcurrent detection to protect all outputs. Each high-side channel has a current monitor output pin. Overcurrent recovery and thermal failover support automatic return to operation after a fault. There are also reverse battery protection and system safety features, including a configurable windowed watchdog and a configurable reset generator.
