     ST's STEVAL-NRG011TV evaluation board helps designers rapidly develop 200W digital power supplies and adapters for LED and OLED TVs with energy efficiency and standby power consumption that meet stringent regulatory requirements.

     Based on STMicroelectronics' STNRG011 digital PFC (power factor corrector) and resonant LLC power converter, the STEVAL-NRG011TV uses a proven and reliable topology to configure and tune operating parameters for excellent power performance. The digital control algorithm is permanently fixed in the ROM memory of the power supply controller without writing code. A full set of sampling parameters is stored in the board's programmable non-volatile memory (NVM) memory.

     The STEVAL-NRG011TV provides 12V/4A regulated power for the TV controller and audio subsystem, and 65V/2.5A for the LED backlight. The wide AC input voltage of 90V to 264V allows the board to be used with power supplies and adapters sold worldwide. Energy efficiency exceeds today's stringent eco-design specifications, with full-load efficiency exceeding 91% at 115V and 230V AC, and no-load power consumption below 120mW.

     As the main chip of the circuit board, the STNRG011 provides a highly integrated solution for designing high-efficiency power converters with power factor correction. An 8-bit CPU subsystem, control logic (including PFC and LLC event-driven state machine (SMED)), analog-to-digital converter (ADC), high-voltage startup circuit, power management, and protection modules are integrated on-chip. A two-wire interface handles communication between the chip and external EEPROM memory, as well as remote monitoring and software updates. The device is available in a 20-pin SO20 power supply package, which helps simplify board layout and reduce power supply size
