
SCHURTER's newest line of NR020 and NR021 power outlet sockets combine traditional features with the latest to meet the increased fire and safety requirements of the UL498 mis-mating standard, and promote domestic and commercial use according to UL 962 and UL 962A Outlet compliance for furniture and furniture distribution units. The NR010 and NR020 series have increased temperature ratings and increased configurations to meet the power demands of today's datacom infrastructure
The packaging density of data communications and storage devices will continue to revolutionize as usage increases and functionality expands. The aforementioned technological advancements have gone hand-in-hand with rising ambient temperatures, and new demands from appliance manufacturers have necessitated changes to the smallest components. The NR010 and NR020 series have an operating temperature range of -25˚C to 150˚C to meet the power demands of the datacom industry.
In addition, the NR010 series is equipped with IDC terminals, which are in two states of parallel and cross with the pin. Among them, the IDC and pin-parallel product types also include models with independent L terminals. The neutral and ground terminals can still be wired, while the maximum load of the phase terminals can reach the UL rating of 15A, 125V. The functionality of the series can also be expanded to add new functionality to each individual outlet.
SCHURTER's NR021 NEMA 5-15R series of anti-mis-mating products meet the extended specification requirements of UL 498. In addition, for manufacturers of household and commercial furniture and furniture power distribution units (FPDUs), the optional addition of a partition wall between the L and N terminals meets the overflow test described in UL 962 Sec. 62. Series products are more cost-effective and efficient.
The anti-misinsertion socket adopts a UL-approved safety shutter system to prevent foreign objects from being inserted into the socket. The safety shutter will only open when both metal pieces of the plug are inserted at the same time. In the UL 498 standard, tests for mis-insertion-proof receptacles also include probe testing, shock testing, mechanical durability testing, and dielectric stress testing. After passing all of the above performance tests, the tamper-proof receptacle must have the word 'mis-mating' or 'TR' printed on the device (minimum 3/16 inch height) to clearly indicate that it is a tamper-proof receptacle.
