Renesas Electronics has introduced the RAA215300 PMIC (Power Management IC), which is optimized to complement Renesas' AI-designed RZ/V2L and RZ/G2L microprocessors (MPUs) - enabled applications.

     Renesas Electronics has introduced the RAA215300 PMIC (Power Management IC), which is optimized to complement Renesas' AI-designed RZ/V2L and RZ/G2L microprocessors (MPUs) - enabled applications. The new high-performance PMIC offers a wide range of features, including nine channels, a built-in charger, and a real-time clock. The high level of integration of new devices reduces design complexity and accelerates time to market for customers.

 

     The RAA215300 includes six step-down regulators, three Ldos, and a button battery/supercapacitor charger. It supports DDR4, DDR4L, DDR3, and DDR3L memory with dedicated VREF, VTT, and VPP tracks. The new PMIC supports four-layer printed circuit boards, thereby reducing costs. Because fewer system components are required on board, the high level of integration also improves system reliability.

 

     The RAA215300 combines with RZ/G2L, RZ/V2L and several other Renesas products to form a scalable SMARC (Intelligent Mobility Architecture) SoM system-level module with an AI design. In addition to the Renesas MPU and PMIC, the Winning package includes a power controller from Renesas, a USB PD controller, and a clock device. Renesas offers more than 250 of these winning combinations, including complementary analog, power, timing devices and embedded processing, with an easy-to-use architecture. They simplify the design process and significantly reduce design risk for customers in a variety of applications.
