Renesas Electronics Releases Industry's First 60W Wireless Power Receiver IC

     Renesas Electronics Group, a global semiconductor solutions provider, has launched the world's first 60W wireless power receiver, the P9418, to create a faster wireless charging experience for smartphones, laptops and notebook devices with an industry-leading power density solution. The highly integrated P9418 wireless power receiver uses Renesas' exclusive WattShareTM technology to deliver up to 60W of power in a single chip, enabling fast and convenient charging of smartphones and various other portable computing devices.

     Based on Renesas' exclusive WattShare technology, the P9418 is a highly integrated single-chip wireless power receiver/transmitter IC (TRx) that can be configured to transmit or receive AC power signals via magnetic induction. The P9418 builds on the proven P9415 Wireless Power Receiver and provides an easy upgrade path for existing customers. The new P9418 also provides advanced data measurements and proprietary charging protocols required for high power applications.
