Renesas Electronics Introduces PCIe Gen6 Compliant Clock Buffers and Multiplexers

     Renesas Electronics, a global supplier of semiconductor solutions, announced that it is the first to introduce clock buffers and multiplexers that comply with the stringent PCIe Gen6 standards. As the industry's leading supplier of advanced clock solutions, Renesas brings 11 new clock buffers and 4 new multiplexers. These new devices, with higher jitter margin when applied to PCIe Gen5, pair with Renesas' low-jitter 9SQ440, 9FGV1002 and 9FGV1006 clock generators to provide customers with a complete PCIe Gen6 clocking solution for data center/cloud computing , networking and high-speed industrial applications.

     The PCIe Gen6 standard supports extremely high data rates of 64 GT/s with extremely low clock jitter below 100fs RMS. Renesas' new RC190xx clock buffers and RC192xx multiplexers have a PCIe Gen6 additive jitter specification of only 4fs RMS, making them virtually noise-free, allowing users to design their products to the requirements of next-generation industry standards.
