Renesas Electronics Introduces New Family of 700V Buck Regulators

Renesas Electronics Group announced the launch of a new family of 700V step-down regulators, the RAA2230XX series, bringing designers more advantages over other competing solutions. The new product has excellent low power consumption, low noise and electromagnetic interference (EMI) immunity, and has a very high system cost advantage, making it suitable for household appliances, sensing systems (such as smoke alarms and gas sensors), white goods, electricity meters and Ideal for various applications such as industrial control.

The new RAA2230XX buck regulators consume only 10mW to 30mW at no load, helping system designers meet increasingly stringent low standby power requirements. Through their unique switching algorithm, they minimize electromagnetic interference and eliminate audible noises such as hum or whine commonly found in comparable solutions on the market. The new regulators can also provide outputs as low as 3.3V, freeing designers from the need for a second-stage low dropout regulator (LDO), saving BOM cost and board space.

The new step-down regulator is powered by AC AC, which is stepped down to power Renesas' MCUs, sensors, and other digital ICs. At the same time, Renesas has developed a "successful product portfolio" that includes this new product, consisting of complementary analog, power, clock and embedded processing products, creating an easy-to-use architecture that simplifies the design process and Significantly reduces customer design risk for a variety of applications. For example, "Home Smoke Detector" successfully demonstrated a turnkey solution for residential smoke alarms for smart industrial control terminals. In addition, Renesas offers a portfolio of more than 200 successful products that work seamlessly with compatible devices.
