Renesas Electronics Introduces Complete Power Supply Solutions for RZ/G2L, RZ/V2L, Significantly Reduces System Design Time

     Renesas Electronics Group, a global semiconductor solutions provider, announced the launch of the RAA215300 PMIC (Power Management IC), a complete power supply solution for RZ/G2L, RZ/V2L microprocessors (MPUs) for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Key features include nine power output channels, a built-in charger and a real-time clock; its high level of integration reduces design complexity and speeds time to market for customers.

     The RAA215300 contains six buck regulators, three LDOs and a coin cell/supercapacitor charger with dedicated VREF, VTT and VPP power outputs and supports DDR4, DDR4L, DDR3 and DDR3L memories. The new PMIC supports four-layer printed circuit boards to reduce costs. The highly integrated design requires only a small number of peripheral components, which can improve system reliability.

     The RAA215300, RZ/G2L and RZ/V2L are paired with other Renesas products to form a "successful product portfolio" of HMI SoMs with AI accelerators. In addition to Renesas' MPUs and PMICs, the "successful portfolio" includes Renesas power controllers, USB PD controllers and clock products. Renesas has now launched more than 250 "Success Product Portfolios" consisting of complementary analog, power, clock products and embedded processors, providing a total solution that is easy to evaluate and use, simplifies design and significantly reduces customer experience.
