RECOM launches AC/DC power supply with 5W output in 3W package

     RECOM has recently introduced two 5W on-board AC/DC product families at very competitive prices, with a choice of industry standard sizes and pinouts. The RAC05E-K series is compatible with the existing 3W package, while the RAC05E-KT series uses the "EI30" transformer pin style. Both series offer 5W output in the same package size as the existing 3W.

     Both series have an input range of 90-264VAC (130-370VDC) and output voltages of 4V, 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V. The output is semi-regulated, but remains within +/-5% of input, load, and temperature over the -25°C to +55°C range. The -K and -KT series can also be derated to +75°C.

     Relevant safety certifications include UL/IEC/EN 62368-1 for IT/multimedia and IEC/EN 60335-1 for households, with reinforced 3kVAC isolation voltage. The no-load power consumption is less than 100mW, the light-load efficiency is high, and the backup power supply can be started without exceeding the ErP limit. The RAC05E-KT series complies with the EMC requirements of EN 55014 and EN 55032 Class B without external components, while the RAC05E-K also requires only a simple external filter. The module provides comprehensive short-circuit, output overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection with automatic recovery. The reliability of the modules is extremely high, the MTBF of the -K series is over 1.6 million hours at 25°C, and the MTBF of the -KT series is over 2.2 million hours, and is backed by RECOM's 3-year quality guarantee.
