RECOM introduces 5W AC/DC converters compliant with OVC III and PD3

     RECOM's new RAC05-K/PD3/H is the Class II on-board 5W AC/DC converter family. Modules are suitable for "fixed installations" that will face higher levels of transients and environmental contamination under overvoltage category III.

     Converters offer 5V, 12V or 15V single output and enhanced electrical clearance to meet OVC III standards at operating altitudes up to 5000m. Nominal input voltages range from 100VAC to 277VAC, but the module can withstand 480VAC without causing sustained damage. The series can operate in "level 3 pollution" environments, where contaminants are likely to conduct electricity if condensed.

     The RAC05-K/PD3-H series has comprehensive short-circuit protection and overvoltage protection in case of internal anomalies, and meets EN 55032 Class B EMI radiation levels (floating output) without external components. The no-load power consumption is less than 0.5W, which conforms to the ecological design directive. The module comes in a 2 "x 1" x 1 "package size and operates at 70°C with natural ventilation, with a 40 percent derated capacity up to 85°C (12V module). The converters are also certified by IEC/EN 62368-1 and UL 61010-1.
