RECOM introduces DC/DC converters with 16:1 ultra-wide inputs, high isolation, 1/4 brick package size, ideal for rail and demanding industrial applications. The RPA150-Q series has an input range of 14.4V to 170V (200V for 1s) with a choice of 12, 24 or 54VDC regulated outputs with a wide output adjustable range of +10/-20% (24V for +18/-20%). Extremely efficient over the entire operating range, all models deliver 150W full load output at ambient temperatures from -40°C to 65°C for convection cooling, up to 75°C with substrate cooling and up to 105°C with derating.
The product has an enhanced isolation of 4.242kV/1 minute, is certified for safety by EN/UL 62368-1 and CAN/ CSA-C22.2N0.62368-1, operates at an altitude of up to 5500m, and meets the railway standards EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 for functionality and safety. The installation of external filters meets EMC standards including EN 55022 and EN 55011 and EN 50121-3-2 for railway applications. The product has full functionality for output adjustable, remote sensing and remote switch control, as well as safety protection against undervoltage locking, overheating, and output overvoltage and overcurrent.
The RPA150-Q series can operate for one second at voltages as low as 12V and as high as 200V, and can withstand sharp drops and surges between 24V and 110VDC nominal voltages as defined by the railway standards EN 50155 and RIA12. In order to suit the typical high impact and vibration track environment in railways, the product complies with EN 61373 and is fitted with threaded inserts for firm installation on PCBS or partitions. In industrial applications, the compact 1/4 brick size is ideal for designs where space is limited and a wide input range is required.
