Pickering Interfaces introduces the new 41-765 Series of analog output/current loop simulation modules

     Pickering Interfaces, a leader in signal switching and simulation solutions for electronic test and verification, has introduced a new 41-765 series analog output/current loop simulation module for simulating industrial transmitters using 4-20mA current loops. As a new member of Pickering's PXI family of simulation modules, the 41-765 series can be programmed to set the piezoswing rate in order to effectively simulate different sensors.

     The 41-765 series modules feature a variety of different output modes, including 4-20mA, 0-24mA, +/-24mA, 0-5V, +/-5V, and +/-12mV, which are versatile and help improve simulation accuracy. In addition, the modules include built-in relays to simulate short circuits and open circuits, with fault injection testing on each channel. In addition, the series modules can operate in fully isolated mode to avoid ground loops.

     The 41-765 series module is the densiest emulation module of its type, occupying only one PXI slot and providing 4 to 16 channels, saving slot space for the PXI or LXI/USB chassis for other instruments. On the software side, the modules have easy-to-use software panels, including Kernel and VISA drivers, and support all major programming environments, including C/C++,.NET, Python, LabVIEW, and MATLAB.

     Paul Bovingdon, simulation product Manager at Pickering Interfaces, explained the new product: "Most of the simulation modules are handheld and manually operated devices. The 41-765 Series analog output/current loop simulation module automates operations, saving users time and improving accuracy in simulation applications such as hardware-in-the-loop."

     The 41-765 series modules are suitable for simulating industrial current loop transmitters in a variety of applications, such as processing instruments, PID (proportional-integral-derivative) controllers, SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems, and PLC (Programmable logic controller) applications. In addition, the modules come with a three-year warranty. In addition, the series modules can be powered via PXI chassis power supply or externally in fully isolated mode. Each channel can be set to either in or out to simulate a transmitter or receiver. PXIe versions of this series of modules are also available upon customer request. In addition, Pickering offers a full range of cable and terminal boards.
