Kevin Mallett, a technologist at Pickering Electronics, explained the new product: "The higher cut-off voltage allows for a further increase in relay performance, allowing for higher device specifications." He adds, "This also means higher voltages. The protection margin provides more security.”
The 104 Series High Voltage Isolated Reed Relays are ideal for applications such as transformer and cable testing or any other automatic test equipment involving high voltage. For applications that require switching supply voltages, such as control and isolation of thyristors or triac gates, the 104 series is ideal.
Four types of reed switches are available with cut-off voltages of 1.5kV, 2kV, 3kV, and 4kV DC, which can be stacked at 0.25-inch pitches. 3kV and 4kV versions accommodate higher voltages due to increased clearance between switch and coil pins. Higher voltage ratings are also available on request.featuring one or two switches in one package, the 104 series is available in 1 Form A, 2 Form A, and 1 Form B types and coil voltages of 5 V, 12 V or 24 V, and optional internal diodes. You can try the innovatively designed reed relay for free here.
Internal mu-metal shielding avoids problems that can arise due to magnetic interactions when relays are closely spaced. And for applications requiring bounce-free switching, we also offer mercury wetted reed relays. They are rated at 1500VDC at minimum cut-off voltage and 500VDC at up to 50W switching power.
With over 25 years of standard product service on the 104 series, Pickering is committed to producing and supporting reed relays for over 25 years from product launch.
Most manufacturers discontinue a product when sales of that product are low enough, which will result in users adopting these products spending significant additional capital and resources on redesigning and maintaining product offerings. And Pickering's long-term support policy provides users with better device supply stability.
