PI introduces InnoSwitch3-PD series flyback switching ics with built-in USB PD controller

     Power Integrations announced the launch of the InnoSwitch™3-PD Series IC, the industry's best-integrated solution for USB Type-C, USB Power Transfer (PD) and USB Digital Control Power Supply (PPS) adapter applications. The new IC comes in an ultra-thin InSOP™-24D package with integrated USB-C and PD controllers, high-voltage PowiGaN™ switches, multi-mode quasi-resonant flyback controllers, secondary side detection circuits, FluxLink™ isolated digital feedback circuits, and synchronous rectifier drivers.

     Power supplies with InnoSwitch3-PD IC are designed with no-load power consumption as low as 14mW, in compliance with all global energy efficiency regulations. The high efficiency of these devices significantly reduces heat dissipation and eliminates the need for large heat sinks. Power Integrations' FluxLink high-speed communication feedback link ensures fast, precise secondary side adjustments. The InnoSwitch3-PD IC also features a full range of protection features, including input voltage monitoring, precise voltage slow up/slow down and overvoltage protection, as well as output over - and under-voltage fault detection with individual Settings for fault response.
