OmniVision is equipped with the new 3-megapixel image sensor from OmniPixel3-HS

     OmniVision has announced the new OS03B10 CMOS image sensor. The image sensor comes in a 3-megapixel 1/2.7-inch optical format that brings premium digital images and high-definition video to security monitoring networks and HD analog cameras.

     The 2.5-micron pixel size of the OS03B10 image sensor uses Howe's OmniPixel3-HS technology. This high-performance, cost-effective solution uses a highly sensitive FSI process to achieve realistic color reproduction in both light and dark conditions.

     Cheney Zhang, Senior Marketing Manager, Howie Group, said, "Many customers are already using our FSI-based 2-megapixel 1/2.9-inch image sensor OS02G10 in security and video applications such as webcams, baby monitors, doorbell cameras, smart TVS, dashcams and more. OS03B10 is pin compatible with OS02G10, so customers can seamlessly upgrade their products to a 3-megapixel image sensor without a redesign, significantly improving image capture and HD video."

     With an advanced 2.5-micron pixel architecture, OS03B10 achieves excellent low optical sensitivity, signal-to-noise ratio, full-well capacity, quantum efficiency and low power consumption. The image sensor can capture 16:9 video at a frame rate of 30 frames per second. The default and programmable modes make it easier to control frame size, exposure time, gain, and other parameters. The image sensor also provides several image control functions, such as mirroring and flipping, windowing, automatic black level calibration, defective pixel correction, and sunspot repair. OS03B10 supports DVP and MIPI interfaces.
