Nexperia's New Bipolar Junction Transistor in DPAK Package Offers High Reliability for Automotive and Industrial Applications

     Nexperia, experts in basic semiconductor devices, announces nine new power bipolar transistors, expanding its portfolio of thermally and electrically advantageous DPAK packages to cover 2 A - 8 A and 45 V - 100 V applications. The new MJD family of devices is pin-compatible with other MJD devices in DPAK packages and offers significant reliability advantages.

     The new MJD series bipolar transistors are AEC-Q101 qualified for automotive and industrial grade devices and are rated at 2 A 50 V (MJD2873/-Q), 3 A 100 V (MJD31CH-Q), 4 A 45 V ( MJD148/-Q) and 6 A 100 V (MJD41C/-Q and MJD42C/-Q). The MJD31CH-Q is designed as a high gain version. All devices feature leading DPAK package reliability and industry-standard pin sizes. Bipolar transistors are used in a wide variety of applications such as LED automotive lighting systems; backlight dimming in LCD displays; linear voltage regulators; relay replacements, motor drives, and MOSFET drivers.
