NXP Introduces i.MX 93 Applications Processor Family, Helping Usher in a New Era of Security Edge Intelligence

     NXP Semiconductors announced the i.MX 93 family of applications processors, designed for automotive, smart home, smart building and smart factory applications, leveraging machine learning at the edge to enable prediction and automation based on user needs. As the first application processor in NXP's i.MX 9 series, the new i.MX 93 series combines the industry's first implementation of the Arm Ethos-U65 microNPU with excellent security and high integration to provide efficient, fast and secure at the edge. machine learning. To address these challenges, the i.MX 93 series features a multi-core heterogeneous architecture that integrates up to two 1.7GHz Arm Cortex®-A55 application processor cores and a real-time Cortex-M33 core microcontroller subsystem with full access to all SoC peripherals, including the industry's first Arm Ethos-U65 microNPU that achieves 256 MACs per cycle. The architecture has excellent energy-efficient machine learning performance for a wide range of applications, including compact battery-operated IoT devices that require a powerful and energy-efficient applications processor for long battery life.

     The i.MX 93 series is highly integrated, in addition to a series of widely used multimedia interfaces, it also supports a variety of industrial and automotive connection interface protocols.
