Microchip's ATWINC3400 is ideal for adding a wireless connection

     Microchip Technology's ATWINC3400 is an IEEE 802.11b /g/n and BLE4.0 Internet of Things (IoT) network controller SoC. It is an ideal addition to existing microcontroller (MCU) solutions to add Wi-Fi and Bluetooth low power (BLE) networking capabilities. The module communicates via a UART or SPI-to-Wi-Fi interface. ATWINC3400 connects to any microchip PIC or SAM MCU with minimal resource requirements.

     The most advanced mode in the ATWINC3400 is single-stream 1x1 802.11n mode, providing up to 72 Mbps PHY throughput. The ATWIN3400 features fully integrated power amplifier, LNA, switch and power management. It also features an on-chip MCU and integrated flash memory for system software, with built-in co-existence mechanisms for concurrent Wi-Fi and BLE functions. The only external clock source required for the ATWINC3400 is a high speed crystal or oscillator with support for various reference clock frequencies. The ATwin C3400 is available in a QFN IC package as well.
