Maxim introduces disturbance free monitoring ics for its basic analog product line

    Maxim Integrated announced the launch of the MAX16162 nanoPower monitoring circuit for its basic analog product line to help designers improve system reliability for low-voltage IoT applications. The monitoring IC is the first in the industry to fully trigger system reset by monitoring the slow rise of the entire system power supply, thereby avoiding interference from low-voltage spike pulses during power-on and improving system reliability.

     More and more IoT system engineers are turning to microcontroller nuclear voltages of 1V or even lower, and traditional monitoring circuits can produce unstable outputs at such low input voltages. The system is prone to failure during power-on, causing the MCU to be in an uncertain state when it wakes up, including incorrect processor I/O output, data reading errors, or other failures.

     The MAX16162 is a reliable protection IC for Maxim's basic simulator family, which eliminates interference from spikes until the input voltage reaches the appropriate voltage threshold. Eliminating interference from spikes not only improves the reliability of IoT systems, but also has significant implications for systems such as portable medical monitoring devices, wearables, base stations, programmable logic controllers, and automatic controls.

     With a current consumption of only 825nA, the MAX16162 provides reliable protection without putting pressure on a limited power budget. The basic analog monitoring IC has a package size of 1.06mm x 0.73mm, which is 23% smaller than the closest competing solutions and helps developers save board space.
